New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, via video conferencing, inaugurated and dedicated a series of development projects worth over Rs 17,000 crore under the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan’ program. The projects spanned multiple sectors, including Roads, Railways, Solar Energy, Power Transmission, Drinking Water, and Petroleum & Natural Gas.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the lakhs of people from all constituencies of Rajasthan for their participation in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan’ program. He commended Chief Minister of Rajasthan for utilizing technology to bring together beneficiaries under one roof. Shri Modi applauded the qualities of the people of Rajasthan and highlighted the recent visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the state, stating that it resonated not only in India but also in France.
Emphasizing the significance of the development projects, Prime Minister Modi said that they would generate numerous employment opportunities in the state. He acknowledged the positive transformation happening in India, moving from a period of despair to a golden era. Shri Modi underscored the government’s focus on the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat and Viksit Rajasthan’ and reiterated his commitment to poverty reduction, job creation, and the creation of modern facilities in the country.
Highlighting India’s global standing, the Prime Minister mentioned his interactions with world leaders during his recent foreign visit, emphasizing their acceptance that India can dream big and achieve those dreams. He declared the current time as a golden period, contrasting it with the challenges faced before 2014.
Prime Minister Modi laid particular emphasis on the fast-paced development of essential sectors such as rail, road, electricity, and water, noting their impact on farmers, animal keepers, industries, tourism, and new investments in the state. He informed about the record allocation of Rs 11 lakh crores for infrastructure development in this year’s Union Budget, benefiting industries like cement, stones, and ceramics.
The Prime Minister highlighted the unprecedented investment in rural roads, highways, and expressways in Rajasthan over the last decade. He announced that Rajasthan is now connected with coastal areas from Gujarat to Maharashtra to Punjab via broad highways. The newly inaugurated projects will enhance connectivity in several districts of Rajasthan, fostering better links with Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
In the realm of railways, the Prime Minister dedicated and laid the foundation stone for eight crucial railway projects in Rajasthan. These initiatives aim to modernize rail infrastructure, enhance safety, improve connectivity, and facilitate the efficient movement of goods and people.
To boost renewable energy production, Shri Modi laid the foundation stone of solar projects worth around Rs 5300 crores in Rajasthan. These projects include the NLCIL Barsingsar Solar Project, a 300 MW Solar Power Project, and the NHPC LTD 300 MW Solar Power project under CPSU Scheme Phase-II (Tranche -III), both located in Bikaner. Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated the 300 MW NTPC Green Energy Limited Nokhra Solar PV Project in Bikaner, contributing to green power generation and economic development in the region.
In the power transmission sector, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 2100 crores, aimed at evacuating power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan. These initiatives will help transmit solar power generated in these zones to the beneficiaries, supporting the growth of renewable energy.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for projects worth around Rs 2400 crores under the Jal Jeevan Mission, focusing on providing clean drinking water in Rajasthan. The projects reflect the government’s commitment to delivering clean drinking water through individual household tap connections across the country.
Additionally, Shri Modi dedicated the Indian Oil’s LPG bottling plant at Jodhpur, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and automation systems. The plant is expected to generate employment and cater to the LPG needs of lakhs of customers in the region.
Prime Minister Modi concluded by reaffirming the government’s focus on the development of youth, women, farmers, and the poor, emphasizing that these sections are the priority for the government. The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ was also mentioned, highlighting the government’s efforts to ensure quick entitlements for beneficiaries.
Governor of Rajasthan Shri Kalraj Mishra, Chief Minister Rajasthan Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, other Ministers of the Rajasthan Government, MPs, MLAs, and local-level representatives were among those who joined the event at various locations across the state.
