New Delhi: The President of India has accepted the resignation of Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan as the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. This development comes amidst changing dynamics in the leadership of key states and union territories.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who had been serving as the Governor of Telangana since September 2019, tendered her resignation, leading to a vacancy in the gubernatorial position. Her tenure has been marked by various initiatives aimed at the development and welfare of Telangana.
To fill the void left by Dr. Soundararajan’s departure, the President of India has appointed C. P. Radhakrishnan, the current Governor of Jharkhand, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, in addition to his existing duties. This interim arrangement is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of governance until a permanent appointment is made.
The appointment of Radhakrishnan will take effect from the date he assumes charge of his office, signaling a swift response to the need for administrative continuity in these regions.
