Rajkot: In a momentous event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for an array of transformative development projects cumulatively valued at more than Rs 48,100 crores in Rajkot, Gujarat. Covering critical sectors such as health, road, rail, energy, petroleum & natural gas, and tourism, these projects signify a colossal leap in the state’s progress and prosperity.
Speaking at the occasion, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the virtual presence of Hon’ble Governors, Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament, Legislative Assemblies, Union Ministers, and the public. He underscored the government’s commitment to decentralizing development programs, bringing the Government of India to every corner of the nation. “Today’s organization in Rajkot is a proof of this belief,” stated PM Modi, emphasizing the nationwide dedication and foundation stone-laying ceremonies as a new tradition in the making.
Highlighting the inauguration of premier educational institutions across the country in the last 10 days, including IITs and IIMs, the Prime Minister focused on the launch of AIIMS Rajkot, AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS Mangalagiri, AIIMS Bathinda, and AIIMS Kalyani. He lauded the accelerated pace at which these healthcare institutions were completed, setting a benchmark for the government’s commitment to development.
Reflecting on his long association with Rajkot, where he was elected MLA 22 years ago, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the unwavering affection and trust of the people. Apologizing for the delay in the day’s program, he shared his earlier activities in Dwarka, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects, including Sudarsan Setu.
Sharing a profound experience from Dwarka, the Prime Minister described offering prayers at the submerged holy city and how it left an indelible impact on him. “This gave a new strength and energy to my resolution of ‘Vikas aur Virasat’. A divine belief has become associated with my goal for Viksit Bharat,” he added.
Turning to the development projects in Rajkot, valued at over Rs 48,000 crores, PM Modi highlighted the New Mundra-Panipat pipeline for transporting crude oil, projects in roads, railways, electricity, health, and education. AIIMS Rajkot’s inauguration, along with the unveiling of the International Airport, was celebrated as a historic milestone for both the city and the nation.
Underlining the commitment to health infrastructure, PM Modi reiterated the government’s accomplishments in the last decade, enhancing healthcare capacity and infrastructure. The Ayushman Bharat Yojna, Jan Aushadhi Centers, and the focus on nutrition, Yoga, Ayush, and cleanliness were emphasized.
PM Modi elaborated on the PM Suryaghar Scheme, which aims to bring electricity bills to zero, creating income for families. He highlighted large wind energy and solar projects, emphasizing their importance for a sustainable future. The Vishwakarma Yojana, PM SVANidhi scheme, and other initiatives empowering workers, entrepreneurs, and artisans were also discussed.
The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating the promise of ‘Modi ki Guarantee,’ emphasizing the government’s commitment to fulfilling guarantees and propelling India towards becoming the world’s third-largest economic superpower.
