Bhubaneswar: The Air Quality Index (AQI) in seven areas across Odisha has been classified as ‘poor,’ according to the latest data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The affected areas include Angul, Barbil, Bileipada, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Rourkela, and Suakati.
Angul reported a ‘poor’ air quality index with a value of 257, with PM2.5 identified as the major pollutant.
The AQI readings for other areas are as follows: Balasore (moderate air quality, index value-104, major pollutant-PM10), Barbil (poor air quality, index value-284, major pollutant-O3), Baripada (moderate air quality, index value-198, major pollutant-PM2.5), Bhubaneswar (satisfactory air quality, index value-91, major pollutant-CO, PM2.5), Bileipada (poor air quality, index value-244, major pollutant-PM10), Brajarajnagar (moderate air quality, index value-118, major pollutant-PM10), Byasanagar (moderate air quality, index value-193, major pollutant-PM2.5), Cuttack (moderate air quality, index value-118, major pollutant-PM10), Keonjhar (poor air quality, index value-209, major pollutant-PM2.5), Nayagarh (poor air quality, index value-265, major pollutant-PM2.5), Rairangpur (moderate air quality, index value-119, major pollutant-PM2.5), Rourkela (poor air quality, index value-207, major pollutant-PM2.5), and Suakati (poor air quality, index value-272, major pollutant-O3).
