Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced the regularisation of 1,022 Nursing Officers who were previously inducted into the General Health Cadre. The Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department issued a circular on Monday to Chief District Medical & Public Health Officers (CDM&PHOs) across multiple districts, including Angul, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Balasore, Bolangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khordha, Koraput, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh.
This decision follows the recommendation made during a High Power Committee meeting held on July 12, 2024. The H&FW Department confirmed that the government’s acceptance of these recommendations will formalise the employment status of these Nursing Officers, ensuring greater job security and benefits.
The official circular stated, “The High Power Committee in their meeting held on 12.07.2024 have recommended for regularisation of service of 1,022 Nursing Officers earlier inducted to General Health Care under different CDM & PHOs & MCHs of the state. The Recommendation of the High Power Committee has been duly accepted by the Government in Health & Family Welfare Department in this context.”
