Bhubaneswar: In a move to address the concerns and demands of junior teachers in primary and upper primary schools, the Odisha Government has announced a substantial increase in their monthly remuneration.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), junior teachers who have completed three years in schematic positions will now receive Rs 20,000 per month, up from the previous Rs 13,800. This decision comes as a response to the various demands put forth by junior teachers, reflecting the government’s commitment to acknowledging and valuing their contributions to the education sector.
The revised remuneration will be effective retrospectively from January 1, 2023, benefiting a total of 12,784 junior teachers working across the state. The annual expenditure for this increment is estimated to be an additional Rs 95 crore.
