Bhubaneswar: To promote medical education in the regional language, the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department of the Odisha Government has formed a committee to examine and identify essential course books for MBBS education that need to be translated into Odia.
“In view of the mandate to provide medical education in Odia language in the State, a committee as detailed below is hereby constituted to examine the matter, identify the essential course books for MBBS education required to be translated into Odia language, and work out timelines and budget requirements for undertaking this task,” reads an office order issued by the H&FW department on Thursday.
The committee has been tasked with assessing the volume of work required for the translation and determining the necessary timeline and budget. The committee is expected to submit its proposal to the H&FW department within 15 days for further action.
The committee comprises 22 members, including a Chairman and a Member-Convener. The detailed list of committee members is as follows:
