Odisha Govt To Allocate Land for Landless PMAY Beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar: To ensure that landless beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) can build their own homes, a high-level inter-departmental coordination meeting was held in Bhubaneswar on Friday. The meeting, chaired by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water Minister Rabinarayan Naik, focused on expediting land allotment for PMAY beneficiaries.

Block Development Officers (BDOs) across the state have been tasked with compiling lists of landless PMAY beneficiaries. These lists will be submitted to the respective Tehsildars, who, in collaboration with Revenue Inspectors, will identify and allocate suitable land for the construction of homes.

To ensure smooth and timely execution, monthly coordination meetings will be held between Tehsildars and Revenue Inspectors on the first Saturday of each month. These meetings will be closely monitored by District Collectors, who will oversee the implementation process to prevent any delays.

Minister Suresh Pujari emphasized that no PMAY beneficiary will be left without the opportunity to build a house due to lack of land. To ensure accountability, District Collectors will submit monthly progress reports to the government, enabling close tracking of the scheme’s progress and ensuring that land is provided swiftly to those in need.
