Odisha Government Engages Global Odia Community for First World Odia Language Conference

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government is actively involving non-resident Odias (NROs) residing in various countries to participate in the inaugural Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani (World Odia Language Conference).

To facilitate the participation of approximately 13 lakh Pravasi Odias, the government is orchestrating an online platform for the conference. Seventeen Odia associations abroad have been approached for their involvement, and they have shown enthusiasm for active participation. The conference will feature presentations by linguists, historians, researchers, and experts from across the globe sharing their fact-based insights.

A dedicated website, www.worldodiaconference.org, has been launched for participant registration. Foreign associations are encouraged to submit articles related to the Odia language and Odisha published in their respective countries through the website.

In response to the associations’ interest, the government has requested messages and wishes, creating a collaborative atmosphere. The conference is slated to commence at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on February 3, marking a pivotal moment for the global Odia community to contribute to the promotion and enrichment of the Odia language and culture.
