Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC and Mumbai City FC played out a thrilling 0-0 draw in their Indian Super League (ISL) clash at Kalinga Stadium on Thursday night, with both teams displaying strong defensive performances.
The draw took Odisha FC’s points tally to 16 from 11 matches, keeping them in fourth place on the ISL standings, behind Mohun Bagan (20 points from 9 games), Bengaluru FC (20 from 10), and FC Goa (18 from 10).
The match ended in frustration for Odisha FC, who had several chances to secure all three points. Striker Diego Mauricio came closest to breaking the deadlock in the final moments, but his one-on-one effort against Mumbai goalkeeper Phurba Lachenpa hit the crossbar.
On the defensive side, Odisha’s goalkeeper Amrinder Singh was in excellent form, making crucial saves to keep Mumbai at bay. Amrinder was called into action in the 53rd minute, where he denied Mumbai’s Jayesh Rane from close range, and he pulled off a series of important saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet.
Odisha FC also faced the challenge of playing without striker Roy Krishna, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury. Despite this setback, Mourtada Fall stood out with a solid performance, playing an important role in breaking up Mumbai’s attacking moves.
Odisha FC will look to bounce back in their next match, facing East Bengal at the Salt Lake Stadium on December 12.
