Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi led a crucial review meeting today to assess the state police’s readiness for the impending General and Assembly elections. The high-level gathering took place at the DGP’s Camp Office in Bhubaneswar and saw the participation of key police officials, including Director of Intelligence Soumendra Priyadarshi, ADG Law and Order Sanjay Kumar, and other senior officers. Additionally, all Superintendents of the Districts were present via video conferencing.
The meeting, chaired by DGP Sarangi, focused on evaluating the preparedness of the police force to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections across the state. Various aspects related to security arrangements, law and order management, deployment strategies, and logistical requirements were discussed in detail during the session.
Director of Intelligence Soumendra Priyadarshi provided insights into the intelligence inputs gathered regarding potential security threats and areas of concern. ADG Law and Order Sanjay Kumar shared updates on the coordination efforts among different police units and the implementation of preventive measures to maintain peace and order during the electoral process.
DGP Sarangi emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance and ensuring a robust security apparatus to uphold the integrity of the electoral process. He directed all senior officials to remain proactive and vigilant in addressing any security challenges that may arise before, during, or after the elections.
