Odisha CM to Visit Singapore for Investment Promotion

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a four-day official visit to Singapore starting Sunday, November 17, in a bid to attract investments to Odisha. This will be Majhi’s first foreign trip since assuming office in June, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts to enhance its economic growth and global presence.

The visit will focus on promoting Odisha’s strengths in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, and port infrastructure, highlighting the state’s readiness for foreign investments. In a statement, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the growth potential offered by Odisha’s operational ports and its strategic emphasis on the chemical and petrochemical industries.

“Through this visit, we aim to forge meaningful partnerships with industry leaders and government delegates, and to engage with our vibrant Odia diaspora. I am confident that this visit will attract significant investments and position Odisha as a preferred investment destination,” Majhi said.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will lead a high-level delegation, which will engage in meetings with top business leaders, visit industrial facilities, and interact with key government officials, including Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister. Additionally, the delegation will participate in a roadshow and interactive sessions designed to showcase Odisha’s business opportunities and potential for investment.

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, who is part of the delegation, highlighted that the visit will not only focus on attracting investments but also provide valuable insights into Singapore’s advanced industrial practices. The aim, according to Swain, is to learn from Singapore’s success in industrial development and explore ways to implement best practices in Odisha.
