Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday instructed district collectors across the state to make decisions regarding the reopening of schools based on local weather conditions. This directive allows collectors the authority to declare holidays or adjust school timings for government, private, and aided schools from Class I to 12 in response to the prevailing weather in their respective districts.
The Chief Minister’s order comes amid varying weather patterns affecting different regions of the state, necessitating a flexible approach to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff. According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), this directive will be effective until June 20.
“The well-being of our students is our utmost priority. Collectors have the discretion to assess the weather conditions and make decisions accordingly to ensure that students and school staff are not exposed to extreme weather conditions,” said the official statement.
