Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched ‘Mukhya Mantri Sikhya Puraskar Yojana’ (MMSPY), an award programme for school education worth Rs 100 crore.
Under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sikhya Puraskar Yojana’, students excelling in education, educational institutions, headmasters, teachers, sarpanchs, school management committees, and former students would be awarded.
The award aims to improve the quality of teaching and bring a competitive spirit among students of government schools.
Announcing the award to be given every year for 5T transformational and other schools, the Chief Minister said that these awards would be presented at block, district, and state levels.
Every year 50,000 students, 1500 headmasters and teachers, school management committees, sarpanchs, and former students will get awards, he said.
CM Patnaik also launched the digital locker app for the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and Board of Secondary Education (BSE). The locker will ensure the safety of the certificates, mark sheets, and other documents of students and could be accessed anytime.
