Bhubaneswar: Odia feature film ‘Adieu GODARD’, has won the best film award in the competition on Indian Language Film category at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which was concluded on Sunday.
The festival was inaugurated on April 25, where over 163 films from 40 countries were screened across 10 venues.
Written and directed by Amartya Bhattacharyya, the film is produced by Swastik Arthouse in collaboration with FilmStop Entertainment and Les Films de la Haute-Vallée.
Shot exquisitely in Odisha, ‘Adieu GODARD’ is a socio-cultural comic tribute to the legendary French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard.
Choudhury Bikash Das portrays the main protagonist named Ananda who is addicted to watching pornography secretly with his friends in a small village. They accidentally come across Godard’s film. While his friends were dissatisfied, Ananda developed an obsession with Godard’s film.
Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Sudharsri Madhusmita, Swastik Choudhury, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Shankar Basu Mallick, Abhishek Giri, Swetapadma Satpathy, Sumit Panda, Sandip Bal, Sridhar Martha, and Dr. Banikanta Mishra plays other important characters of the film.
