Bhubaneswar: In a significant move towards transforming the skilling landscape in Odisha, NUA Odisha (Nutana Unnata Abhilasha) unveiled a series of groundbreaking initiatives. The emphasis on decentralized skilling marks a pivotal shift, aligning with the state’s commitment to empower the youth. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik launched the initiative on Friday.
Key Initiatives Unveiled:
MoU with NIOS for ITI Students: A landmark MoU with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) will empower ITI students to secure 12th class certificates, benefiting over 20,000 students annually and creating new opportunities for higher education.
New Age Skilling: Introduction of innovative skilling programs tailored to equip youth with skills demanded by the evolving job market.
Digital Skilling with Nasscom: NUA Odisha’s partnership with Nasscom will provide digital skilling opportunities, offering e-skilling to 1 lakh youths annually through online courses in collaboration with industry leaders like Microsoft and Coursera.
Decentralized Skilling Programs: The government’s commitment extends to grassroots with the launch of decentralized skilling programs in 30 districts, ensuring year-round skill development for local youth through district skill centers.
Upskilling Initiatives: Over 5,000 ITI students will undergo upskilling in new-age trades through short-term courses, enhancing their skills and employability.
Empowering Women with WSC Shakti: An initiative aiming to create women leaders through executive MBA programs and the establishment of centers of excellence for girl students, contributing to gender-inclusive skill development.*
