New Delhi: The electoral process for the much-anticipated General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2024 kicked off today as nominations began to be filed for the First Phase. The Election Commission of India issued a Gazette notification for 102 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) across 21 States and Union Territories (UTs) slated to go to polls in Phase 1.
Polling in the 102 Parliamentary Constituencies in Phase 1 is scheduled to take place on April 19, 2024. The First Phase encompasses a diverse range of States and Union Territories, highlighting the vast electoral landscape of India.
The States and Union Territories included in Phase 1 are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
