Newly Appointed Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena Vows to Prioritize Law and Order During Festive Season

Cuttack: The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Cuttack, Jagmohan Meena, a 2013 batch IPS officer, has pledged to maintain law and order as a top priority during the upcoming festive season. Meena, who previously served as the Superintendent of Police in Ganjam, assumed office on Tuesday and outlined his plans to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of festivals in the city.

“Our primary focus is to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the festivals,” Meena stated while addressing the media after taking charge.

The new DCP emphasized the importance of improving police-public relations, highlighting his commitment to training officers in soft skills to ensure respectful and courteous interactions with the public, particularly at police stations.

Meena also took a firm stance on crimes against women, promising swift action and enhanced police response times during emergencies. “We will address these issues with firm resolve,” he remarked, reiterating a zero-tolerance approach.

In an effort to promote transparency and better communication, the DCP announced that his official phone number and WhatsApp contact would be made widely available to the public, encouraging residents to report issues directly or seek assistance as needed.

As part of the broader law enforcement strategy, Meena revealed that the police would keep a close watch on known professional criminals during the festive period to prevent any potential disruptions. Special attention will also be given to women’s safety, with increased patrols and vigilance across the city.

Expressing his excitement to serve in Cuttack, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, Meena said, “I am honoured to work in a city with such a vibrant history. Our approach will be proactive in maintaining peace and order while strengthening ties between law enforcement and the community.”
