New Delhi: The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), successfully concluded a two-week capacity building program (CBP) for civil servants of Bangladesh. The 69th and 70th batches, consisting of 84 officers serving as Deputy Secretaries and Up-Zilla Nirbahi Officers, participated in the program held at Mussoorie and New Delhi.
With the completion of the 69th and 70th Capacity Building Programs, NCGG achieved a significant milestone by providing capacity-building initiatives for 2500 civil servants of Bangladesh. A total of 2557 Bangladesh Civil Servants have been imparted training through these programs under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program of the Ministry of External Affairs.
The CBP focused on enhancing the capabilities of Sub-Divisional Officers in Land Administration, improving justice delivery for efficient revenue administration, and highlighting the role of Deputy Secretaries in the Central Secretariat. The program emphasized the digitalization of the central secretariat through the adoption of e-Office. The participants were encouraged to leverage technology for better citizen-government interaction, pursue digital transformation in institutions, and empower citizens digitally.
The curriculum covered various topics, including the changing paradigm of governance, disaster management, leadership and communication, Digital India, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Swamitva scheme, efficient public service delivery, Housing for All scheme, digital governance in healthcare, Mudra Yojana, among others. Exposure visits to the District Collectorate Bulandshahar were also organized to augment the learning journey.
In the valedictory session, the Bangladesh Civil Servants interacted with V. Srinivas, Secretary DARPG, and Director General NCGG. The program was supervised by Dr. A. P. Singh, Course Coordinator, Dr. Mukesh Bhandari, Associate Course Coordinator, Shri Sanjay Dutt Pant, Programme Assistant, and the capacity-building team of NCGG.
NCGG, in partnership with MEA, has been actively contributing to the capacity development of civil servants not only in Bangladesh but also in 16 other countries, promoting knowledge exchange and fostering international cooperation.
