New Delhi: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) hosted a prestigious event titled “Utkrishtata ki Ore Badhte Kadam: Celebrating Achievements, Inspiring Excellence” on July 18, 2024, to recognize and felicitate top performers under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Yojana and Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM).
Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Manohar Lal, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, including Central Ministries, State Governments, Urban Local Bodies, Lending Institutions, and partners, for their unwavering support and significant contributions to the success of these transformative schemes.
The event witnessed the presence of Tokhan Sahu, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Anurag Jain, Secretary, MoHUA, along with senior officials from various governmental bodies, lending institutions, digital payment aggregators, key partners, and most importantly, beneficiaries of DAY-NULM and PM SVANidhi.
Highlighting the achievements under both initiatives, the event featured the release of a compendium showcasing inspiring success stories of DAY-NULM beneficiaries and the Annual Report of PM SVANidhi. These publications provided comprehensive insights into the impactful initiatives and reforms implemented under the schemes over the past year.
Furthermore, Manohar Lal launched new features of the PM SVANidhi mobile application, including a voice-based grievance tool, chatbot, and e-Parichay card, aimed at enhancing user engagement and efficiency. These additions are set to streamline complaint submission processes, improve query resolution mechanisms, and provide seamless access to the Parichay Board for PM SVANidhi beneficiaries.
The event celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of the fiscal year 2023-24 and acknowledged the dedication and diligence of stakeholders through the presentation of PRAISE and SPARK awards. These accolades honored states, urban local bodies, and lending institutions for their exceptional performance in implementing PM SVANidhi and DAY-NULM initiatives.
In addition to recognizing achievements, the event fostered insightful discussions through expert panels. Topics included “The Role of Partnerships for Sustainable Urban Poverty Alleviation” for DAY-NULM and “Creating Inclusive Spaces for Street Vendors in City Planning and Exploring Financial Partnerships” for PM SVANidhi. These discussions aimed to chart a course for future program development by incorporating diverse perspectives and strategic insights.
