Ministry of Labour & Employment Partners with TeamLease EdTech to Expand Job Opportunities Through NCS Portal

New Delhi: In a major initiative to enhance employment prospects, the Ministry of Labour & Employment has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TeamLease EdTech. The MoU, signed today by Amit Nirmal, Deputy Director General (Employment) at the Ministry, and Jaideep Kewalramani, COO and Head of Employability Business at TeamLease EdTech, will leverage the National Career Service (NCS) portal to create more job opportunities for India’s job seekers.

This collaboration is set to broaden employment options by integrating TeamLease EdTech’s database of over 15,000 open positions daily with the NCS portal. Additionally, the partnership will introduce work-linked degree programs, providing young job seekers with a blend of academic learning and hands-on experience, which will strengthen employability and better align education with industry needs.

The initial two-year agreement outlines a commitment from TeamLease EdTech to post job vacancies on the NCS portal, host hiring drives, and share a range of work-integrated degree programs. To further support job seekers, Career Lounges will be established in designated Model Career Centers. Staffed by career counselors, these lounges will offer guidance on career paths and programs, with two lounges expected to be operational by the end of December 2024. Furthermore, job seekers on the NCS portal will gain access to skill programs through TeamLease’s Digivarsity platform.

Since its launch in July 2015, the NCS portal has become a vital resource in India’s employment landscape. Managed by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, it provides job search capabilities, career counseling, vocational guidance, and skill development resources. The portal recently achieved a milestone with over 2 million active vacancies on a single day and has already registered over 1 crore vacancies in the current financial year. It now serves over 35 lakh employers, playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between talent and job opportunities across India.

With integration across 30 state and union territory employment portals and various private job portals, the NCS portal has expanded its reach to millions of job seekers and employers. This collaboration with TeamLease EdTech further solidifies the portal’s mission to empower India’s workforce, making it a crucial platform for career growth and employment accessibility in the country.
