Kamala Harris Secures Democratic Nomination for President

Washington:  Bringing cheers to the supporters of Democratic Party, Vice President Kamala Harris has secured enough votes from Democratic delegates to win the party’s nomination for president. The announcement was made by Democratic National Committee Chair Jamie Harrison during a call with supporters.

“I am honored to be the presumptive Democratic nominee for President of the United States,” Harris declared in a Harris for President campaign call. The online voting process was scheduled to end on Monday, but Harris broke the threshold to receive the majority of the delegates’ votes ahead of schedule.

Confirming that she “will officially accept the nomination next week,” the U.S. Vice President asserted: “This campaign is about people coming together, fueled by love of country, to fight for the best of who we are.”

Harris expressed her gratitude to Harrison for the announcement, stating that she was “excited” for the future and emphasizing that the party has “a lot of work to get there.” Calling her campaign a “people-powered campaign,” she acknowledged that reaching this point would not have been possible without the support and trust of her party. She added that she was “deeply grateful” to her party and supporters.

Addressing the Democratic Party’s delegates, state leaders, and staff, Harris noted that their “dedication cannot be overstated.” She emphasized, “We love our country, we believe in the promise of America, and that’s what this campaign is about.”

The Vice President also mentioned that they will all gather in Chicago to commemorate this momentous occasion.
