Dubai, UAE:INS Shardul, as part of its long-range training deployment, has successfully concluded its visit to Port Rashid, Dubai. This visit marks another significant milestone in bolstering maritime cooperation between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the port call, the crew of INS Shardul engaged in a series of key activities, including interactions with the UAE Navy, cross-training visits, and community outreach initiatives. Sea trainees from INS Shardul participated in organized visits to the Naval Officers Training Academy and the UAE Naval Ship, fostering professional interactions and facilitating productive discussions on shared knowledge and training practices.
The visit featured joint training sessions, yoga activities, and friendly sports fixtures, all of which were well-received and highlighted the spirit of camaraderie between the two naval forces. A formal reception was hosted onboard INS Shardul, attended by personnel and officials from the UAE Navy, diplomats, and distinguished members of the Indian community.
Upon departing from Dubai, INS Shardul participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the UAE naval ship Al Quwaisat. This exercise included a series of naval maneuvers, communication drills, and coordinated movements, demonstrating the high level of mutual coordination and interoperability between the two navies.
The successful visit of INS Shardul to Dubai underscores the importance of India-UAE maritime relations and reflects both nations’ commitment to enhancing capacity in the maritime domain, in line with the vision of SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
