Indian Navy Launches New Welfare Initiative for Civilian Personnel, Partners with Bajaj Allianz for Life Insurance

New Delhi: The Indian Navy has declared 2024 as the ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ with a focus on inclusivity, innovation, and enhanced functional efficiency in Human Resources (HR) management. The initiative aims to create a more inclusive work environment and introduce welfare measures that elevate the quality of life for naval civilians.

A key aspect of this welfare initiative is providing monetary relief to the families of civilian employees in the unfortunate event of an untimely death while in service. Recognizing the need for financial security, the Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company to offer a comprehensive range of life insurance options, including affordable term insurance.

The life insurance policy, available on a voluntary basis, is designed to offer financial relief to the families of Naval civilians in the case of death or other covered eventualities. This partnership is part of the broader efforts under the ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ initiative to ensure that civilian personnel feel supported and valued within the organization.

Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Chief of Personnel, highlighted the significance of this collaboration with Bajaj Allianz Life. “The life insurance solutions provided by Bajaj Allianz Life have been specifically tailored to meet the needs of our Naval civilian personnel. This initiative underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to the welfare of its civilians and their families,” he said.

The declaration of 2024 as the ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ aligns with the Indian Navy’s goal of fostering a culture of inclusivity and a strong sense of belonging among its civilian workforce. Various new initiatives are being introduced to improve the overall work environment, with a major focus on enhancing welfare measures and quality of life for all Naval civilians.
