Indian Air Force Celebrates 92nd Anniversary with Spectacular Air Show at Marina Beach, Chennai

Chennai: As the Indian Air Force (IAF) marks its 92nd anniversary, a breathtaking air show captivated an audience of over 15 lakh spectators at Marina Beach, one of the longest beaches in the world. The Chief Guest for the event was Tamil Nadu’s Hon’ble Chief Minister MK Stalin, who was joined by Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, as well as senior officers from the Defence Forces and dignitaries from both state and central governments.

Themed Sashakt, Saksham, Atmanirbhar (Potent, Powerful, Self-reliant), this year’s celebrations reflected the IAF’s growing strength and self-reliance. The air show featured awe-inspiring aerial maneuvers, showcasing the unmatched flying prowess of IAF aviators as they filled the skies over Chennai with spectacular formations and performances. The IAF’s motto, Touch the Sky with Glory, was on full display as fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters executed precision maneuvers, demonstrating the force’s modern capabilities.

The event highlighted the IAF’s transformation into a cutting-edge, formidable force, featuring flypasts by indigenous projects that symbolize India’s path toward self-reliance. The audience was treated to displays by aircraft such as the Tejas fighter jet, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, and Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40), all developed under India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The Sukhoi-30 MKI’s low-level aerobatics were among the show’s most thrilling moments, exemplifying the highest levels of professionalism and skill of IAF pilots.

The grand finale featured stunning performances by the renowned Suryakiran and Sarang Aerobatic Teams, leaving the crowd mesmerized. The Suryakiran team’s precision flying and the Sarang team’s helicopter aerobatics underscored the IAF’s extraordinary capability and commitment to excellence.
