Dambulla: India clinched a decisive 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday, securing their spot in the final of the ninth Women’s Asia Cup.
Renuka Thakur was the standout performer, demolishing Bangladesh’s top order with a brilliant spell during the Powerplay. She took three key wickets, restricting Bangladesh to a meager 80/8. Thakur’s exceptional figures of 4-1-10-3, along with Radha Yadav’s three wickets, put India in a commanding position.
In response, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma made quick work of the chase, reaching the target in just under 11 overs. Mandhana was in fine form, scoring a brisk half-century that sealed the match for India.
