New Delhi: The India-Australia Joint Working Group (JWG) on Cooperation in Public Administration and Governance Reforms convened a significant meeting aimed at sharing innovative practices and strengthening bilateral collaboration. The meeting was co-chaired by V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), and Dr. Gordon de Brouwer PSM, Australian Public Service Commissioner. Senior officials, including Dr. Surendra Kumar Bagde, Director General of the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), and Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, participated, while Suneet Mehta, Deputy High Commissioner of India at Canberra, moderated the discussions.
The discussions showcased cutting-edge innovations in public service delivery from both nations. Puneet Yadav presented India’s advancements, highlighting platforms such as the Next-Generation Centralized Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and the National e-Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA). These systems are integral to India’s drive for transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric governance. Other reforms, including digital transformation initiatives in government offices and the promotion of meritocracy under the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence, were also discussed.
On the Australian side, the delegation highlighted their “myGov” platform, an integrated system that streamlines digital government services, along with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance public service delivery. The exchange of ideas further included a briefing by the Director General of NCGG on the Centre’s Capacity Building Programme, emphasizing institutional capability development.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to bolster collaboration in integrated digital service delivery, incorporating trusted and safe AI technologies. Both nations also pledged to strengthen cooperation in public administration reforms by leveraging advanced technology.
This collaboration underscores the commitment of India and Australia to lead global efforts in governance innovation. By exchanging expertise and adopting progressive strategies, both countries aim to establish a framework for efficient, inclusive, and technologically empowered governance systems. The outcomes of the meeting reflect a shared vision for the future, prioritizing citizen welfare and seamless service delivery in the digital age.
