IIT Bhubaneswar Strengthens Global Ties with Three International Universities

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, has embarked on a path of global collaboration by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three prestigious overseas universities. The agreements aim to foster mutual cooperation in teaching and research endeavors.

The international universities involved in these collaborations include Plovdiv University or Paisii Hilendarski from Bulgaria, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh.

In an effort to deepen these academic ties, Director of IIT-Bhubaneswar, Shreepad Karmalkar, formalized the MoU with Prof Rumen Mladenov Rector of Plovdiv University. Simultaneously, Dean of International Relations, Prasant Kumar Sahu, inked agreements with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, represented by Jarez Miah, and Jahangirnagar University of Bangladesh, represented by M Shamim Kaiser.

Highlighting the significance of these collaborations, Director Shreepad Karmalkar stated, “These three MoUs between IIT Bhubaneswar and the overseas universities aim at the development of a collaborative relationship in academics and research through various joint projects and faculty exchange.”

The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of deans, faculty members of IIT-Bhubaneswar, and approximately 40 delegates from different universities and institutions spanning the UK, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Latvia, Belgium, Turkey, and India. The move underscores IIT Bhubaneswar’s commitment to fostering a globalized academic environment and leveraging international partnerships for the advancement of education and research.
