Bhubaneswar: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar celebrated its 16th Foundation Day on February 12, 2024, commemorating the significant milestone of the foundation stone laying of the institute’s campus at Argul on the same day in 2009. To mark the occasion, a special interactive session with the first regular director of IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof. Madhusudan Chakraborty, was organized for the faculty and staff members of the institute.
Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, the Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, welcomed and introduced Prof. Chakraborty, providing a brief overview of the institute’s history and the development of its campus. The interactive session aimed to delve into the journey of IIT Bhubaneswar and seek insights from the visionary leader who played a pivotal role in its establishment.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Chakraborty shared his experiences in the early days of IIT Bhubaneswar and elaborated on the efforts made towards the development of the dedicated campus. His valuable insights and guidance were well-received by the faculty members and staff present. The interaction facilitated discussions on the future growth and trajectory of the institute.
Coordinated by Prof. Rajesh Roshan Dash, Dean (Student Affairs), the interactive session provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and reflections on the institute’s journey over the past 16 years.
