Goa: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) recently conducted an immersive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in-person Programme from April 4th to 6th, 2024, in Goa, aimed at fostering responsible business practices and enhancing CSR education in India.
Organized by IICA’s School of Business Environment (SBE), the event brought together a diverse cohort of CSR professionals, industry experts, and academicians for a series of technical sessions, group activities, and interactive discussions.
In her welcome address, Prof. Garima Dadhich, Head of the School of Business Environment, IICA, set the stage by delving into the evolution of CSR in India, followed by an insightful session on ‘A Decade of CSR in India,’ which outlined the progress and key milestones achieved in the CSR landscape over the past ten years. Dr. Dadhich also proposed strategies to address challenges based on trend analysis.
Dr. Ravi Raj Atrey, Chief Programme Executive at SBE, IICA, explored the intersection of ‘ESG-CSR and Brand Building,’ emphasizing the integration of environmental, social, and governance factors into corporate branding strategies.
The sessions transitioned from learning to leadership, with participants presenting their Implementing Agency project reports and Corporate Attachment project reports, receiving valuable feedback from expert faculty. Mr. Bharat Wakhlu, Founder and President of The Wakhlu Advisory, emphasized the importance of visionary leadership in CSR with his innovative PAMS strategy. Mr. Dinesh Agrawal, Principal Consultant at Consocia Advisory, provided insights into the legal intricacies of CSR compliance, briefing participants on the 40 amendments made in the past decade.
