DGP Khurania Reviews Preparations for 73rd All India Hockey Championship 2025

Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar will host the 73rd All India Hockey Championship in March 2025. The event promises to be a grand affair, with 27 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams from across the country set to compete.

A preparatory meeting for the championship was chaired by Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania at the DGP Camp Office. During the meeting, DGP Khurania emphasized the importance of meticulous planning to ensure the event’s smooth execution.

Key directives included arranging accommodations for players, scheduling regular practice sessions, and ensuring seamless coordination for the opening and closing ceremonies. Practice sessions are planned at the Kalinga Stadium, Pokhariput, and KIIT campus grounds, with special arrangements being made at these venues.

The championship is expected to attract international hockey players, VVIPs, and other prominent personalities. DGP Khurania instructed senior officers to implement stringent security measures and provide all necessary facilities for participants and guests.

Senior police officers, including ADGP (Modernization) S. K. Priyadarshi, ADGP (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, and Additional Commissioner of Police (Cuttack-Bhubaneswar) Dr. Umashankar Dash, were among those present at the meeting, signaling the high level of preparedness for this prestigious event.

With Bhubaneswar gaining a reputation as a hub for world-class sporting events, the upcoming championship is poised to showcase Odisha’s organizational prowess and love for hockey.
