New Delhi: A momentous step towards enhancing the lives of Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) has been taken as the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO) and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration focuses on the design, development, and manufacturing of rehabilitation and assistive technology (AT).
The MoU, signed by Prof. Shantanu Bhattacharya, Director CSIR-CSIO, and Praveen Kumar, CMD ALIMCO, stands as a crucial milestone in the pursuit of accessibility and inclusivity for persons with disabilities. The ceremony at the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) office in CGO Complex, New Delhi, was graced by the esteemed presence of Rajesh Aggarwal IAS, Secretary, DEPwD, and Rajesh Yadav IAS, Joint Secretary, DEPwD.
The event also saw the participation of scientists from CSIR-CSIO through video conferencing, showcasing their dedication to collaborative efforts in driving innovation and technological advancement in rehabilitation and assistive technology.
