Bhubaneswar: To strengthen public administration, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed appointment letters to 476 officers and employees at a ceremony held at Lok Seva Bhavan. Organized by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, the event marks the government’s ongoing efforts to expand employment opportunities in the state.
During his address, CM Majhi congratulated the newly appointed officers and employees, urging them to recognize their roles as more than just jobs. “Your responsibility is to serve the people of Odisha and ensure that government welfare schemes reach the most vulnerable sections of society,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of dedicated public service.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to employment generation, CM Majhi announced ambitious plans to fill 1.5 lakh government positions over the next five years, with a strong focus on merit-based selection. He also highlighted initiatives aimed at creating 3.5 lakh employment opportunities for young women in the industrial sector, further boosting the state’s job market.
The newly appointed officers and employees will join various key departments, including Fisheries and Animal Resources, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations, Planning and Coordination, and the Scheduled ST, SC Department.
