Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has set an ambitious directive to elevate Odisha to the status of a leading industrial state in India, with a strong focus on creating ample employment opportunities for the youth. The directive was issued during a review meeting of the programmes of the Industries Department and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department held at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the vast opportunities available in Odisha to boost industrialization and provide jobs for the state’s youth. He underscored the importance of establishing port-based and modern-age industries, alongside the already flourishing metal and mineral-based sectors.
“Odisha has the potential to lead in industrialization and employment generation,” Majhi stated. “We must focus on developing local areas and creating a conducive environment for industries.”
Majhi highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special focus on Odisha, envisioning the state as a gateway to the country’s development over the next 25 years. He called for immediate steps to enhance the infrastructure necessary for industrial growth.
He stressed the significance of establishing more labor-intensive industries to provide employment for local youth and advised leveraging various Central Government schemes, such as Mudra Swanidhi and Viswakarma, to support new entrepreneurs.
