CHW Khati: Noted Poet Sailaja Rabi Narrates his Cuttack Memoir

Cuttack, January 13: The 40th Session of Cuttack Heritage Walk (CHW) Khati was held in the conference hall of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) yesterday evening. Sailaja Rabi, noted poet and a living legend of our times, presented his impressions and experiences of the Millennium City.

He has been a witness and participant of the changes during the past eight decades. He brilliantly presented the different facets of life including language, literature and livelihood of the dwellers of the Silver City. He described how people were scared to go near Khan Nagar Crematorium and use Bajrakbati Road during the evening hours. He also said that a decent park near Khan Nagar has dramatically altered the character of the locality, but still Bajrakbati Road continues to be one of our busiest roads in the city. His presentation was full of insights.

Dr Saroj Kumar Tripathy, Dr Hemanta Kumar Parida, Bisheswar Das, Hitesh Seth, Chinmay Jena, Arunita Padhi, Soudamini Jena, Minati Biswal, Dipa Samantarai, Om Prakash Mohanty, Gopal Krushna Dhal and Kumar Prasenjeet Sahoo participated in the discussion that followed the presentation.

While Professor Kanishka Das felicitated Sailaja Rabi on behalf of Cuttack Heritage Walks, the session was conducted by convener of CHW Dr Dipak Samantarai and assisted by Kumar Swapnajeet Sahoo.
