Chairman 5T Nabin Odisha Reviews Progress on Kalamandal and Akhyara Bhoomi Projects

Bhubaneswar:In a proactive move towards strengthening Odisha’s cultural infrastructure, Chairman of 5T & Aama Odisha, Nabin Odisha, undertook a site visit at 8 am today to assess the ongoing construction of the Kalamandal  near Sainik School, Bhubaneswar. This project, with a seating capacity of 2000, is being meticulously developed by IDCO for the Department of Odia Language Literature & Culture. Upon completion, it is slated to become the largest Convention Centre under the auspices of the Government of Odisha.

During the review, Nabin Odisha directed the Managing Director of IDCO to expedite the Kalamandal project’s completion within a stringent timeframe of four months. Recognizing the cultural significance of the endeavor, the Chairman emphasized the importance of aligning the interior design with the rich aesthetics of Odisha’s culture and heritage. To ensure a harmonious blend, he suggested collaboration with the Culture Department.

Subsequently, Chairman 5T also visited the site where the Works Department is actively engaged in the construction of Akhayara Bhoomi. This project holds special significance as it is dedicated to commemorating the 1st World Odia Language Conference, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar between 3rd to 5th February. An impressive commemorative arch, reflecting the distinctive Kalingan style of architecture and crafted in condolite stone, is set to grace the Akhayara Bhoomi. It is poised to become a focal point of attraction, especially for the youth, serving as a poignant reminder of the rich heritage of the classical Odia language.

Key discussions during the site visit revolved around ensuring ample space for the future expansion of the Akhayara Bhoomi building and earmarking the basement for visitor parking at the cultural convention centre. Chairman 5T also proposed the inclusion of green spaces and the strategic planting of trees across the campus, contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the incorporation of eco-friendly elements was suggested, aligning with modern sustainability practices.

These proactive initiatives underscore Chairman Nabin Odisha’s commitment to fostering the cultural identity and heritage of Odisha through the development of cutting-edge infrastructure. The strategic directives and hands-on involvement in these projects reflect a transformative approach, aimed at creating vibrant cultural hubs in the state.
