CBIC Inaugurates GST & Customs Pavilion at India International Trade Fair 2024, Introducing Red Panda as Official Mascot

New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) launched the GST & Customs Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 today, under the theme “Facilitating Trade, Fostering Economy”. CBIC Chairman Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, accompanied by CBIC Board Members, led the inauguration, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to streamline trade, support taxpayers, and stimulate economic growth.

Designed as an interactive platform, the pavilion aims to educate taxpayers on GST and Customs processes, offer grievance resolution, and guide visitors on career opportunities within the Customs and GST Department. It features six dedicated helpdesks staffed with experts on GST, Customs, GST Network, and ICEGATE, providing comprehensive support to visitors.

Highlights of the Pavilion:

  • Educational Resources: Six tutorial videos on GST and Customs have been released in ten regional languages, as well as Hindi and English, ensuring accessible information for a diverse audience.
  • Helpdesks: Six helpdesks offer on-the-spot resolution of queries and guidance on tax regulations and processes.
  • Career Guidance: A specialized counter provides youth with information on career paths within the Customs and GST Department.
  • Digital Displays: Interactive digital displays showcase the achievements and initiatives of the GST and Customs department, engaging visitors in an informative experience.

Adding a lively cultural element, the pavilion offers interactive events such as Nukkad Natak, magic shows, puppet performances, quizzes, and caricature art, attracting attendees of all ages and making the space particularly appealing for families and children.

In a first, CBIC has introduced Red Panda as the official mascot of the GST & Customs Pavilion at IITF 2024. Embodying values of duty, precision, and trust, the Red Panda symbolizes CBIC’s mission to balance vigilance with a commitment to seamless trade.

The GST & Customs Pavilion remains open to all attendees at the IITF, offering an engaging space for taxpayers and visitors to connect with the CBIC and gain valuable insights into GST, Customs, and related services.
