Annual Navy Education Society Conference 2024 Concludes in Goa

Goa: The Annual Navy Education Society (NES) Conference 2024 was successfully held from November 20 to 22 at the Headquarters Goa Naval Area in Vasco-da-Gama, Goa. The conference focused on shaping the future of Naval Schools through discussions on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and other key policy frameworks.

The event brought together members of the Executive Committee, Management Advisory Committee (MAC), and Academic Advisory Committee (AAC), alongside officers from Naval Headquarters and academic leaders from Naval Schools across the country.

Key Highlights of the Conference

The Executive Committee Meeting, held on November 22, was chaired by Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, Controller Personnel Services and Chairperson of NES. The MAC and AAC meetings were presided over by Commodore SM Urooj Athar, Commodore (Naval Education) and Vice Chairperson of NES.

A special guided tour of Navy Children School Goa was arranged for the delegates, offering insights into the school’s facilities, academic programs, and co-curricular initiatives.

During the conference, Vice Admiral McCarty presented Rolling Trophies to Naval Schools that achieved academic excellence in the past year. In his address, he commended the schools for their significant contributions to providing high-quality education to the children of naval personnel.

Focus on NEP 2020 Implementation

Vice Admiral McCarty emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the NEP 2020 across Naval Schools. He highlighted the need for school managements to fully understand the principles of the NEP and ensure their integration into teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and extracurricular activities.

He also encouraged school leadership to create an environment that inspires students to develop life skills alongside academic success, fostering well-rounded individuals ready to excel in diverse fields.
