Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Meeting on Jammu & Kashmir Security, Reaffirms Commitment to ‘Terror-Free J&K’

New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in the capital today. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials including the Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, RAW Chief, Chief of Army Staff, and other key leaders from the armed forces and paramilitary units.

During the meeting, Amit Shah reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to achieving a “Terror-Free Jammu and Kashmir” under the Zero Tolerance Policy against terrorism, a directive championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured that all necessary resources would be mobilized to achieve this goal, highlighting the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and secure peace in the region.

The Union Home Minister acknowledged the unprecedented participation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections as a testament to their faith in India’s democratic framework. He lauded the efforts of security forces for their success in reducing terrorist incidents, infiltration attempts, and the recruitment of youth into terrorist organizations.

Shri Shah emphasized the importance of sustained and coordinated efforts to dismantle the remaining traces of terrorism in the region. He directed security agencies to intensify their operations under the Area Domination Plan and Zero Terror Plan, ensuring that these strategies are implemented in mission mode.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Shah noted, the government has significantly disrupted the terrorism eco-system in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged all agencies to continue their collaborative approach to maintain dominance over security threats and ensure the safety and prosperity of the region’s residents.

The meeting reflects the government’s strong focus on restoring peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir while addressing the challenges posed by terrorism. The coordinated approach aims to pave the way for sustained development and integration of the region into India’s broader progress narrative.
