Bhubaneswar: Air India Express has inaugurated direct flights connecting Bhubaneswar to Patna, marking a major milestone in enhancing connectivity between the two state capitals. The Bhubaneswar-Patna route is part of the airline’s broader expansion, which also includes new services to Bengaluru and Hyderabad from Patna.
The Bhubaneswar-Patna flight departs daily at 2:55 PM and lands in Patna at 4:20 PM, providing a seamless travel option for passengers. The return flight arrives in Patna at 4:30 PM and departs for Bhubaneswar at 5:00 PM. On its inaugural day, the flight saw strong passenger bookings with 162 seats occupied, highlighting the route’s potential demand.
A celebratory event was held at Patna Airport to mark the launch of these new routes, with the first flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar taking off in the presence of dignitaries and airline officials.
In December, Air India Express announced its plans to expand in eastern India, introducing four new routes from Bhubaneswar. Alongside Patna, services to Jaipur, Kochi, and Lucknow have already commenced, further bolstering the city’s connectivity.
“With these additions, Bhubaneswar now offers direct connections to 11 domestic destinations and seamless access to 19 more domestic and 10 international locations, including major hubs like Dubai, Singapore, and Riyadh,” the airline shared on social media.
The airline operates weekly flights from Bhubaneswar to key cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, and Pune, reinforcing its commitment to improving regional connectivity.
