Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari Emphasizes IAF’s Future-Ready Vision During Visit to MILIT, Pune

Pune:  Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, PVSM AVSM VM ADC, Chief of the Air Staff, visited the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) in Girinagar, Pune on February 9, 2024. During his visit, the Air Chief interacted with all participants of the Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC-06) and delivered a comprehensive address on the theme “Transition of IAF into a Contemporary and Future Ready Aerospace Force.”

The Air Chief articulated the vision of the Indian Air Force (IAF) as outlined in the latest edition of IAF’s doctrine (2022), aiming to be an agile and adaptive Air Force that provides decisive aerospace power in furtherance of national interests. To achieve this vision, he emphasized the need for the IAF to “See First and See the Farthest, Reach First and Reach the Fastest, Hit First and Hit the Hardest.”

During his address, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari highlighted the pivotal role played by the IAF in nation-building, particularly in Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief efforts during national calamities and the evacuation of Indian diaspora from conflict zones. Emphasizing the evolving nature of future conflicts, he underscored the imperative to reimagine, reform, redesign, and rebuild traditional war-fighting machinery to adapt to emerging paradigms.

In a significant moment, the Chief of the Air Staff inaugurated the country’s only Armament Technology Lab at MILIT. He commended the institute for its crucial role in shaping officers from all three services, including Officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs), preparing them for command and staff appointments.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari’s visit to MILIT not only underscored the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the armed forces but also reflected the commitment of the Indian Air Force to be at the forefront of contemporary and future aerospace capabilities.
