504 Junior Engineers Inducted into State Government Service in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A total of 504 Junior Engineers (Civil) officially joined the ranks of the Odisha state government in a momentous induction ceremony held today. Among the newly appointed engineers, 398 will serve under the Panchayati Raj Department, 78 in the Odisha Municipal Engineering Cadre, and 28 in the Public Health Engineering Cadre within the Housing & Urban Development department.

The induction program took place at the Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhawan, and it witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Addressing the freshly appointed engineers, Chief Minister Patnaik conveyed his expectations, stating, “You all are young, confident, and full of energy. You are here to serve the people, make their lives change for the better. Develop a passion to give your best.”

Welcoming the new engineers, he provided valuable advice, urging them to embrace the 5T principles of Teamwork, Transparency, Technology, and Time to witness the transformative impact of their work. He emphasized, “You will see the complete transformation of Odisha in your lifetime, and you will be a catalyst for that transformation.”

Highlighting the government’s commitment to comprehensive societal transformation, Chief Minister Patnaik mentioned groundbreaking initiatives like the 24/7 “Drink From Tap” facility. He expressed the desire to set new benchmarks in all endeavors, emphasizing, “You will be working in urban and rural areas of our state to build infrastructure for providing basic amenities to people.”

The newly appointed engineers are set to play a crucial role in managing and implementing essential services such as drinking water provision, sanitation, and the success of flagship programs like Basudha, Garima, “Drink From Tap,” and the housing facility for the urban poor under the Jaga Mission, directly impacting the lives of citizens at the grassroots level.
