
Bhubaneswar: With an aim to promote renewable energy, 500-MW floating solar projects will come up in Odisha.
The Odisha government signed a MoU with National Hydroelectric Corporation (NHPC) on January 4. In a statement the Ministry of Power informed that the project would be jointly carried out by NHPC, state government and Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd (GEDCOL).
HNPC will form the Joint Venture (JV) for initial investment of Rs 2,000 crore to set the floating solar projects on different water bodies to generate 600 million units (MU) per annum.
