
Bhubaneswar: The 4th edition of the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey Grassroots League Championship 2024 has officially commenced at the Kalinga Stadium. This event, organized by the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (HPC) in collaboration with the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, will run until 12 July. The championship aims to identify and nurture young hockey talent from the grassroots level across the state, fostering a robust pipeline of skilled players.
The initial phase of the championship took place in Nuagaon and Jajpur from June 10-15, attracting enthusiastic participation from 32 grassroots centers in both men’s and women’s categories. This phase saw intense competition, leading to the advancement of eight teams from each category to the final phase.
In the men’s category, HTCs Rajganpur, Kutra, Bonai, Tileikani, Bisra, Chatrapur, Subdega, and Saunamara have qualified for the final phase. For the women’s category, HTCs Gurundia, Nuagaon, Lefhirpada, Kuaramunda, Bargaon, Lathikata, Chatrapur, and Dhenkanal have made it to the finals.
