108 ft National Flag Inaugurated at Rama Devi Women’s University

Bhubaneswar: A towering 108 ft monumental national flag, symbolizing unity, pride, and patriotism, was inaugurated today at Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar. The flag, installed by the Flag Foundation of India, stands as a proud landmark within the university, celebrating the spirit of the nation.

The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo and Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, with Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), and President of the Flag Foundation of India, addressing the gathering virtually. Also present were Maj. Gen. Ashim Kohli (Retd.), CEO of the Flag Foundation of India, and Prof. Aprajita Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University.

Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo lauded the Flag Foundation of India, led by Naveen Jindal, for its nationwide initiative to install monumental flags, spreading the spirit of patriotism. He highlighted Jindal’s decade-long legal efforts that secured the right for citizens to hoist the National Flag with dignity year-round.

In his virtual address, Naveen Jindal spoke about the profound importance of the Tricolour in uniting and inspiring the nation. “The National Flag represents our collective spirit and unity. Its presence inspires generations to serve the nation with dedication and pride,” Jindal said.

Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy commended the efforts of the Flag Foundation and Jindal’s contribution to the nation’s development, including JSP’s various social and patriotic initiatives.

The monumental flag at Rama Devi Women’s University marks the 158th installation by the Flag Foundation of India and the eighth in Odisha. JSP’s President and Head (Group CSR), Prashant Hota, emphasized the initiative’s importance, saying, “Under Naveen Jindal’s leadership, the Foundation has been championing the right of every Indian to proudly display the National Flag.”

The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from university students, faculty, and dignitaries, who gathered to celebrate the inauguration with pride and reverence. The soaring Tricolour is set to serve as a powerful symbol of inspiration and national pride for the community.
